Château de Marclaz, Fortified house in Thonon-les-Bains, France.

The Château de Marclaz features a quadrangular main building with two stories, mullioned windows, and a round tower containing a spiral staircase.

Built around 1500, the fortress endured destruction in 1589 during conflicts between Duke Charles-Emmanuel of Savoy against Geneva and France.

The property earned recognition as a French historical monument through an official decree issued on July 12, 1995.

Located 4 kilometers southwest of Thonon-les-Bains center, the fortress stands near the left bank of the Pamphiot River along the Geneva route.

The fortress maintains its original bell-shaped roof atop the round tower, representing architectural elements from the late medieval period.
