Musée d'art et d'histoire Romain-Rolland

The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire Romain Rolland resides in the Hôtel de Bellegarde, featuring multiple exhibition spaces across its historic and modern wings.

Established in 1876 under director Amédée Jullien, the museum relocated to the Hôtel de Bellegarde in 1962 after previously occupying the local savings bank building.

The museum displays Italian Renaissance paintings, Gallo-Roman artifacts, and an extensive collection of regional ceramics from the local faience industry.

The facility opens from 10 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM, remaining closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays during October through April.

The museum contains a dedicated section documenting the timber floating industry that transported wood to Paris from the 16th to late 19th century.
