Musée d'art et d'histoire de Meudon, Art museum in Meudon, France

The Museum of Art and History occupies a 17th-century residence positioned at the base of the Orangerie of Meudon's National Estate. The building houses collections focused on local art history as well as French paintings and sculptures spanning several periods.

The 17th-century house is classified as a monument historique since 1891. It stands at the foot of the Orangerie of the Meudon national estate, on the site of the former Château de Meudon. The town of Meudon has run it as a municipal museum since 1973.

The Meudon history collection grew from donations by the Société des amis de Meudon and covers the town's castles, including the Château de Meudon of Louis XIV's son and Bellevue, built for Mme de Pompadour. In 2006 the Grellety Bosviel family gave a large group of 19th-century French landscape paintings, among them works by Daubigny, Dupré, Díaz de la Peña, Lépine and Marquet.

The museum sits at the foot of the Orangerie of the Meudon national estate, on the site of the former Château de Meudon. The building has been listed as a monument historique since 1891. It has been run by the city of Meudon since 1973, and temporary exhibitions are held several times a year, so the displays change.

The museum's sculpture holdings centre on the second half of the 20th century: works by Jean Arp, César, François Stahly, Parvine Curie, Simone Boisecq, Karl-Jean Longuet, Juana Muller, Raymond Veysset, András Beck and Krasno. It also received a gift of drawings from the collection of Isis Kischka, president of the Salon des peintres témoins de leur temps.
