The Pic de Burat stands at 2,154 meters above sea level, featuring a prominence of 72 meters within the Pyrenees mountain range.
The mountain has served as a natural boundary marker between different communes in the Haute-Garonne department throughout the development of French administrative divisions.
Local shepherds continue their traditional practice of seasonal grazing, moving their herds across the mountain slopes during summer months.
The demanding hiking trail to reach the summit spans 16 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1,340 meters, requiring approximately 6.5 hours to complete.
The Cabane Burat mountain shelter, positioned 851 meters west-northwest of the peak, stands as the highest structure within the Réserve Biologique Dirigée de Burat.
