Paradis Latin, Historic cabaret theatre in Latin Quarter, France
Paradis Latin is a theatre building in the Latin Quarter that hosts performances by around 30 artists performing dance, acrobatics, and singing acts. The venue accommodates approximately 650 guests in its main hall with distinctive architectural features throughout.
The original structure was commissioned in 1803 before being rebuilt in 1889 in connection with the Paris World Exposition. This reconstruction transformed the building's appearance and structural design.
The name 'Paradis Latin' references the historic student quarter where French was once the common language. The shows display a style of entertainment that feels rooted in Parisian elegance, with costumes and choreography that speak directly to the audience.
Performances take place in a single hall, making it straightforward to find your seat and navigate. Arriving early allows you to observe the room's layout and decorative details before the show begins.
The building incorporates metal elements that reflect the style of the Eiffel Tower, both originating from the same historic period. It stands as the only cabaret venue on Paris's Left Bank, distinguishing it within the city's entertainment landscape.
