Vieux pont d'Albi, Medieval bridge in Albi, France.

The Vieux pont d'Albi extends 151 meters across the Tarn River, featuring multiple stone arches that support both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Construction of the bridge began in 1040, with initial funding from ferry revenues, transforming into a vital crossing point during France's medieval economic growth.

The bridge structure included eleven residences during the 16th century, housing families of craftsmen such as tanners, shoemakers, weavers, and merchants.

The bridge connects the two sections of Albi while providing direct views of the Berbie Palace and Sainte-Cécile Cathedral from its crossing point.

Two drawbridges formerly secured the structure's ends, while a fortified tower named Notre Dame stood at its center for defense purposes.
