Shangri-La Hotel Paris, Palace hotel in 16th arrondissement, France.

The Shangri-La Hotel Paris is a restored 19th-century mansion with approximately 100 rooms featuring marble floors, intricate wood carvings, and European architectural elements throughout. The spaces are distributed across multiple levels with classical proportions and refined furnishings.

Prince Roland Bonaparte, great-nephew of Napoleon, had this residence built in 1892 by architect Alfred Ernest Charles Janty as his private palace. The original structure was later converted into a hotel while retaining its historical character.

The Shang Palace restaurant serves authentic Cantonese dishes and was the first Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant to open in France. Visitors can experience how this culinary tradition is presented within a classical European mansion.

Many rooms and suites offer views of the Eiffel Tower, with some providing this view from both bedrooms and bathrooms. When booking, guests can inquire about the exact location and orientation of rooms to match their preferences.

The original zodiac symbols remain visible on the vaulted ceiling, reflecting the mansion's early decoration scheme. The historic Stairway of Honor displays brass and forged steel craftsmanship that has survived largely unchanged.
