Tour Silex 2, Office skyscraper in La Part-Dieu, France
Tour Silex 2 is an office tower in the La Part-Dieu district of Lyon, reaching 129 meters in height across 23 floors. The building sits within a dense commercial area and forms part of a broader development project named Silex.
The tower was completed in 2021 through the transformation of an existing building in La Part-Dieu. It is one of several projects that have been reshaping this business district since the 2010s.
The tower is also called tour newcleo after the nuclear technology company that replaced Solvay in late 2024. The LPO installed a nest box with cameras on the building, occupied by a pair of peregrine falcons. Tenants include Newcleo, Axa assurances and Microsoft.
The building is primarily used as office space and is most active on weekdays during business hours. Visitor access is generally limited to those with appointments or business inside.
Although the tower looks like a new construction, it was built around an older office structure that was already on the site. Nothing about its current appearance suggests there is an older framework hidden inside.
