Tour des Argonautes, Revenue house in Châtillons district, Reims, France.
The Tour des Argonautes is a residential tower with 17 floors reaching about 65 meters high in the Chatillons neighborhood of Reims. The building contains approximately 157 apartments and is currently undergoing energy efficiency upgrades.
The tower was built between 1969 and 1972 by L'Effort rémois as part of Reims' modernization movement during that era. Architects Maurice Clauzier and Tremblot created a building that represents the modernist style of the period.
A steel sculpture of a ship tops the building and creates a luminous outline visible at night. This element has become a familiar landmark that shapes how people experience the neighborhood.
The building is easy to spot from outside and serves as an orientation point in the neighborhood, especially when the lighting display is active. The area has good public transportation connections, making it convenient to reach the district.
The name references the Argo from Greek mythology, the legendary ship that carried the Argonauts on their adventures. This mythological reference was expressed through the steel sculpture on the roof, giving the building a distinctive narrative quality.
