The Basilique Sainte-Clotilde is a Neo-Byzantine church with a Greek cross layout and central dome. The structure combines Byzantine features with architectural elements reminiscent of Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome.
Architect Alphonse Gosset built the church between 1896 and 1905 to commemorate the 1400th anniversary of King Clovis's baptism. This construction project honored a pivotal moment in French history.
