Damery is a small commune in the Marne department, near Épernay, home to the church of Saint-Georges, a classified historical monument. The stone building features a square tower that rises above the village center and combines sections built across several centuries.
A document from 870 already mentions Damery, and the church of Saint-Georges was built around the mid-12th century as part of a priory. The choir and transept were rebuilt in the 13th century in a Gothic style, and the building received its historical monument classification in 1911.
