Saint-Martin Church features a Greek cross layout with a dome on pendentives and four rectangular barrel-vaulted transepts around the central space.
Architect René Ménard designed this Romano-Byzantine church, with construction starting in 1895 and completing in 1922 under Émile Libaudière's supervision.
The monumental frescoes, painted in 1926, depict multiple scenes from Saint Martin's life, including the sharing of his cloak with a beggar.
The church welcomes visitors from May through October, from 9 AM to 7 PM, with volunteers providing guidance to guests.
Actor Louis de Funès's funeral service took place in this church on January 29, 1983, while residing at the nearby Clermont Castle.
