Château de Clermont, 17th-century castle in Le Cellier, France

The castle exhibits pink brick walls contrasting with white stone masonry, topped by steep slate roofs and featuring symmetrical wings extending from the main building.

Built between 1643 and 1649 during the regency of Anne of Austria, the castle belonged to the Chenu family before passing to the Maupassant family and later Louis de Funès.

The architecture follows Louis XIII style principles with its combination of materials, central staircase placement, and Italian-influenced proportions in the side wings.

Located 27 kilometers from Nantes, the castle stands on elevated ground offering views across the Loire River valley toward the Pays des Mauges region.

The castle served as residence for comedian Louis de Funès for thirty years and temporarily housed a museum dedicated to his career from 2013 to 2016.
