Mauve bridge

The Mauve Bridge is a steel crossing that spans the Loire River and links the two banks of Mauves-sur-Loire. The structure features a metal framework that stretches across the waterway with multiple supporting sections.

The bridge was built in 1882 as a symbol of industrial progress in the late nineteenth century. A major renovation occurred recently, replacing outdated vault structures with modern materials and techniques.

The bridge forms part of the Loire River network, where numerous structures reflect the engineering methods and architectural patterns of French industrial development.

Visitors can walk across the bridge and enjoy views of the river and surrounding landscape. Access is available from both sides of the river, and the surface is maintained for regular foot traffic and vehicles.

The bridge is notable for its renovation method using specialized precast concrete elements that significantly reduced its overall weight. This solution allowed the structure to gain capacity while maintaining its original form.
