Étang de l'Épinoche, Protected natural area in Montesson, France.
The Étang de l'Épinoche covers six hectares within the Montesson Loop Departmental Park and contains the largest reed bed in the Lower Seine Valley.
Between 1984 and 1995, the Île-de-France Ornithological Center documented the presence of 130 different bird species at this natural site.
The site, designated as a Type I ZNIEFF under number 110001487, serves as a primary observation point for ornithologists and naturalists in Île-de-France.
Visitors can access the pond to observe local wildlife, particularly the 60 nesting bird species, of which 46 are protected under French legislation.
The site's diverse natural environments enable the nesting of numerous rare species in Île-de-France, including the Little Bittern and Great Reed Warbler.
