Ouvrage Saint-Roch, Military museum in Sospel, France.
The fort consists of four interconnected blocks, including an entry section, artillery chamber, and two observation posts overlooking the Sospel valley at 426 meters elevation.
Constructed between 1930 and 1932 as part of the Maginot Line defense system, the fort required 5,000 cubic meters of concrete and 385 tons of steel.
The museum displays military equipment and artifacts that demonstrate the strategic importance of Alpine fortifications in French border defense systems.
Tours last 90 minutes, with admission fees of 9 euros for adults and 6 euros for children between 5 and 16 years old.
The interior maintains a constant temperature of 14 degrees Celsius and houses a 13-ton historical 149mm cannon in its original position.
