Nantes synagogue

The synagogue on Impasse Copernic features traditional Jewish architectural elements and serves as the main religious building for Jewish worship in Nantes.

Inaugurated in 1870, the synagogue replaced an earlier temple on Franklin Street and represented the growth of the Jewish population in Nantes during the 19th century.

The building functions as the Centre Communautaire et Culturel André Neher, providing religious services and educational programs for approximately 150 families in the region.

Regular religious services, community gatherings, and educational activities take place in the synagogue under the guidance of Rabbi Ariel Ben David.

The synagogue witnessed the remarkable tenure of Rabbi Samuel Korb from 1882 to 1929, marking a period of substantial community development in Nantes.
