Maison de Nicéphore Niépce

The Maison de Nicéphore Niépce displays original equipment and documentation about early photography techniques in a restored historic building from the 18th century.

Nicéphore Niépce captured the first permanent photograph in 1826 from this house, using a process called heliography that required an eight-hour exposure time.

The museum presents exhibitions detailing the evolution of photography from its inception, including the development of different photographic processes through the centuries.
