La Serre aux papillons

La Serre aux papillons is a butterfly sanctuary housed in a greenhouse facility within Poullain Garden Center, where hundreds of tropical butterflies fly freely in a temperature-controlled environment. Visitors walk among exotic flowers and plants while colorful insects flutter around them.

The sanctuary was established with the goal of protecting butterfly species and educating the public about their importance. Over time, it developed into an important center for entomology studies in the Yvelines region.

The name refers to the greenhouse structure where visitors observe butterflies in settings that resemble their natural habitats. The spaces are designed to allow the creatures to fly freely and display their typical behaviors.

The sanctuary is located within Poullain Garden Center on Avenue des Platanes and is easily accessible by car or train from Paris Montparnasse. Visitors should expect a pleasant temperature and allow enough time to explore the different areas at a relaxed pace.

The facility is home to some of the world's largest butterfly species that visitors can observe up close. A newly added section featuring luminescent properties was created through a partnership with Aglae technology.
