Château de Béhoust

Château de Béhoust is a castle located in the center of Béhoust village, positioned near the D42 road and opposite Saint-Hilaire Church. Two large stables and a sprawling park surround the main building, creating a country estate feel across the entire grounds.

An 11th-century fortress originally stood here before being demolished in medieval times. Marquis François III de Lastic built the present-day castle between 1767 and 1772 in the neoclassical style.

The castle displays 18th-century design details, with two wings extending it in 1880. These additions shape how visitors experience the building today as they walk around the main structure.

The estate currently operates as an event venue with 19 meeting spaces designed to host groups ranging from 20 to 170 people. Visitors should be aware that access may be restricted and advance inquiry is recommended.

The vaulted cellars are the only preserved sections from the original 11th-century fortress that preceded this location. These underground spaces offer a rare glimpse into what the earlier structure contained.
