Originally built during the 13th century, the castle underwent major reconstruction in 1642 by Marquis Claude d'Attilly following Renaissance architecture principles.
French Expressionist painter Bernard Buffet selected this castle as his residence from 1971 to 1979, contributing to its artistic legacy.
The castle now functions as a hotel with 98 rooms, offering indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, and a spa center.
Guests can take boat rides on the medieval moat that still surrounds the castle, connecting them directly to its historical foundations.
