Farnese Hercules, Stone statue in Tuileries Garden, France
The stone statue of Hercules measures 242 centimeters in height and 86 centimeters in width, depicting the mythological hero resting after his labors.
Giovanni Comino sculpted this piece between 1670 and 1672 in Rome, and it was initially placed in Parc de Sceaux before moving to Tuileries Garden in 1793.
The statue represents Hercules leaning on his club with a lion skin, holding the golden apples of Hesperides behind his back.
Visitors can find the statue in the Grand Carré section of Tuileries Garden, which maintains different opening hours according to seasons.
A photograph by René Giton captured this statue during winter, with snow covering its surface, creating a different perspective of the sculpture.
