The Parc de Préhistoire de Bretagne is a theme park in Malansac, Morbihan, on a 25-hectare former slate quarry. A pedestrian trail crosses forest and lakes formed in the old quarries, leading to 36 full-size scenes with reconstructions of prehistoric humans from the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic, as well as dinosaurs.
The park opened in 1988 at Malansac on a former slate production site returned to natural landscapes. It first focused on human prehistory, especially the Neolithic, well represented in Brittany by its megalithic monuments. From 1992 it added life-size dinosaur reproductions.
The park displays life-size scenes showing how early humans hunted, made tools, and built shelters across different prehistoric periods. These reconstructions help visitors understand the daily lives and skills of our ancestors.
Wear comfortable shoes for walking through natural terrain and reconstructed exhibition areas. The pathways are marked and easy to follow through the wooded landscape.
