Stade de la Croix du Prince, Historic rugby stadium in Pau, France
Stade de la Croix du Prince is a rugby field with wooden stands located in a residential neighborhood of Pau. The facility features a standard playing surface and has served as both a training venue and match location for local teams.
The ground opened in 1928 and served as the main home for Section Paloise rugby club until the team relocated in 1990. The wooden stands dated back to 1913 and were designed following English architectural principles.
The stadium represented a central gathering point for rugby enthusiasts in Pau, hosting numerous matches including a notable game against the All Blacks in 1919.
The site is located on Rue du 14 Juillet and has capacity for roughly 1000 spectators. Today it primarily serves youth teams as a training facility.
The stands were completely removed in March 2019 after safety regulations prevented their continued use. The demolition marked the end of a structural chapter that had lasted over a century.
