The Monastère de la Dormition-de-la-Mère-de-Dieu is an Orthodox monastery situated on a remote plateau in the Hautes-Alpes, surrounded by mountain peaks and containing several prayer halls and residential buildings. Joseph Raïsi founded the monastery in 1970, converting ruins into a religious complex with the first liturgy celebrated by Father Cyrille in 1971. This initial restoration marked the beginning of continuous monastic life at the site.
