The Monastère de la Dormition-de-la-Mère-de-Dieu is an Orthodox monastery at Notre-Dame, in the commune of La Faurie, Hautes-Alpes. Its central group of buildings, made of exposed stone with ochre mortar, includes the winter chapel of Saint Martin, a small oratory of Saint Nicholas used as a sacristy, a chapter room, an icon workshop, a refectory, cells and a guest hall. About a hundred metres north-west stand the main church, dedicated to the Dormition, and the cemetery. The monks built and decorated the buildings themselves.

Joseph Raïsi founded the monastery in 1970, converting ruins into a religious complex with the first liturgy celebrated by Father Cyrille in 1971. This initial restoration marked the beginning of continuous monastic life at the site.

Services are sung in French to Byzantine melodies, an adaptation of the chant worked out under the monastery's second abbot. The community also runs a metochion, Saint-Cassien, in Manosque, where pastoral and family activities are grouped. The monastery belongs to the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of France.

Visitors should arrange their visit in advance and dress respectfully, as the site follows strict religious guidelines for access. It helps to understand the monastery's practices before arrival to ensure a smooth and respectful visit.
