The building, constructed in the 18th century following Hardouin-Mansart's plans, replaced a medieval fief with its mound and moats.
Philosopher Claude-Adrien Helvétius purchased the estate in 1749, and the paintings by Jean-Baptiste Oudry that decorated the castle now reside in the Louvre.
The historical monument at 624 Chemin de Vore receives full protection, including its facades, roofing, entrance gate, and court of honor.
The residence maintains period wood-paneled salons and a courtyard surrounded by outbuildings that preserve the architectural integrity of the estate.
