Maison de Monte au Lever, Art Nouveau manor house in Les Grangettes, France.
Maison de Monte au Lever is a residential house with Art Nouveau architecture positioned on a hilltop at about 1000 meters elevation. The building sits among meadows and forest edges with views toward Lake Saint-Point.
Industrial magnate Louis Neyron commissioned architect Auguste Morisot to design this house between 1910 and 1913 as a summer residence for his family. The estate was furnished with stones from older buildings dating from the 13th to 17th centuries.
The house blends regional building traditions with Art Nouveau elements, showing decorative ironwork and brick patterns that reflect local craftsmanship. Visitors today can still see this mix of local and artistic influences in the details throughout the property.
Visits are possible but require prior arrangement since the property remains in private hands. The grounds and some interior spaces can be explored when organized with the owner.
The estate displays a collection of stones and elements that give visitors a window into old regional crafting techniques. An exhibition space on site focuses on preserving and sharing these local skills.
