The Monument to Napoleon and His Brothers presents five equestrian statues of Bonaparte family members, created with detailed sculptural elements and architectural designs.
Constructed in 1865 based on designs by architect Viollet-le-Duc, the monument received classification as a historical monument in December 1986.
The monument represents the Bonaparte family influence on French society through its depiction of Napoleon alongside his brothers Joseph, Louis, Lucien, and Jerome.
Located between the old town and newer districts of Ajaccio, this monument currently undergoes renovation work and remains temporarily closed to visitors.
The monument features specific Roman-style attire for Napoleon's statue, with contributions from multiple sculptors including Lucien Barry, Thomas, Louis Petit, and Jerome Maillet.
