Château de Margon

Château de Margon is a medieval castle featuring a rectangular main building with three round towers rising three stories high. The structure displays typical medieval fortified architecture designed for both residence and defense.

Construction began in the 12th century as a residence for the Alquier family and later passed to the L'Isle and Antignac families. These changes in ownership show how the castle shifted hands through marriages and alliances over time.

The rooms inside display 18th-century decorations with landscape paintings and portraits that reflect how the residents lived at that time. These ornaments show the tastes and interests of the families who called this place home.

Visitors can explore the castle through guided tours that provide a full overview of its layout and features. Comfortable shoes are recommended since touring involves climbing multiple stories and walking through the grounds.

The grounds contain landscaped gardens laid out in classical French style with multiple levels connected by water features. This garden design was created in the early 18th century and remains an important part of the property today.
