Château des Marais is a Neo-Gothic château built in 1893 in Hillion. Its pale beige facade has grey stone trim, with two round turrets flanking a grey stone central section, a balcony above a raised arched entrance reached by a broad stone staircase, and a dark grey slate roof with pointed turret roofs, dormer windows and tall chimneys. Rectangular windows with pale shutters line the facade, and shrubs and overgrown grass stand in front.

Built in 1893 by Angélique de Lourmel, granddaughter of the wealthy merchant Louis-Toussaint Sébert, the castle was constructed to display family fortune and status. German forces occupied it from 1940 to 1944 during World War II, but it survived this period intact.

The château's name, les Marais, refers to the marshes of Hillion, and the building is now hired out for weddings and birthdays. Its neo-Gothic turrets and dormer windows were chosen in 1893 by Angélique de Lourmel, granddaughter of the Saint-Brieuc shipowner Louis-Toussaint Sébert.

After decades of neglect, the castle underwent comprehensive restoration and now operates primarily as an event venue for weddings and celebrations. Visitors should know that access is typically tied to specific events, so planning ahead is important for a visit.
