Château de Carel

Château de Carel is a manor house situated along the Dives River with a moat system and several farm buildings arranged around it. The layout shows classical French residential design with connected outbuildings that form a working estate structure.

The main structure was built from 1719 to 1743, reflecting architectural styles from the Louis XIII and Louis XIV eras. This construction period defined the manor as it appears today.
