Mosquée de Fréjus

The Fréjus Mosque is a modern two-story structure with separate prayer halls for men and women, each equipped with modern facilities. The building includes ablution rooms, administrative offices, and landscaped green spaces surrounding the property.

Construction began in 2013 after receiving administrative approval, following years when local Muslims had gathered in makeshift spaces for prayer. The project marked an important shift in how the Muslim community accessed dedicated worship facilities.

The mosque serves as a central gathering point for 650 worshippers, offering Arabic language classes and religious education through the El Fath association.

The building is located in the Gabelle district and is accessible by local roads. Visitors should be mindful that this is an active place of worship where respectful behavior toward worshippers is expected.

The project went through a lengthy approval process involving France's highest administrative court before construction could proceed. Its completion in 2015 resolved years of debate about religious infrastructure in the city.
