Grotte des Petites-Dalles

The Petites-Dales cave extends 853 meters underground through a network of limestone galleries with heights reaching 10 meters and widths between 2 to 5 meters.

Local inhabitants and English visitors left inscriptions inside the cave, and during World War II teenagers documented their explorations within its passages.

The cave represents a focal point for geological research, with regular exploration campaigns conducted by speleological groups since 1966.

Guided tours are available during summer 2024, with specific dates on July 16 and August 6, requiring advance registration and proper clothing for underground exploration.

The cave contains specific geological features including ferro-manganic deposits and volcanic bentonite layers, making it a reference site for geological studies.
