Château de Kéralio

Château de Kéralio is a castle north of Plouguiel featuring medieval architecture with a main tower and fortified walls. The complex includes a chapel with ornate stonework and remains in private ownership.

In 1497 Master Roland Scliczon received permission from Duchess Anne of Brittany to fortify this manor. The site was later registered as a historic monument to preserve its architectural heritage.

The chapel displays carvings of Breton saints that are visible in the stonework throughout the building. These religious figures show the spiritual importance the place held for its inhabitants.

The site is located north of the village and can be reached on foot or by car. Since it remains in private ownership, visitors should check beforehand whether access is possible.

The sepulchral chapel features a distinctive ogival door decorated with embedded pinnacles and stone frames. These details demonstrate the skill of medieval stoneworkers who shaped this intricate design.
