Hôtel Chanac de Pompadour, Private mansion in 7th arrondissement, France

The Hôtel Chanac de Pompadour features a central courtyard, English garden, and neoclassical facade at 142 rue de Grenelle in Paris.

Built between 1704 and 1866 for Abbé Pierre Hélie Chanac de Pompadour, the mansion received official monument status on October 20, 1928.

The interior contains preserved 18th-century decorative elements, including painted ceilings in the dining room and bedchambers of this aristocratic residence.

The building currently serves as the Swiss Embassy in France, with specific areas accessible to visitors during Heritage Days events.

Pierre Victor, Baron de Besenval added a decorative private bath called nymphaeum in 1782, designed by Alexandre-Théodore Brongniart with Claude Michel elements.
