Château de La Porte

The Château de La Porte is a mansion located across the communes of Sandillon and Saint-Cyr-en-Val in the Loiret department, built with architectural features from the late 18th century. Its chapel dates from 1785 and displays classical French design typical of that era.

Claude de Loynes d'Autroche began construction of this residence in 1776, establishing it as a significant structure in the region. Official recognition as a protected historical monument came in 1992 and 1995, when its historical importance was formally confirmed.

The name refers to the gates that once marked the entrance to the estate grounds. Visitors can still observe traces of these historic access points in how the gardens and pathways are arranged.

The property is situated southwest of Sandillon town center and can be accessed via departmental road D14. The location sits at approximately 100 meters in elevation, making the terrain relatively level and easy to walk.

French painter Charles Pensée documented the property in watercolor paintings during the 1850s and 1860s, capturing a visual record of the estate at that time. These artistic works offer a rare glimpse into how the château appeared through the eyes of a contemporary observer.
