The viaduct extends 561 meters in length and reaches 60 meters in height, featuring 18 round arches each spanning 25 meters.
Construction of the viaduct began in March 1892 with the first stone laid on June 18, and completed in August 1895 to serve the Paray-le-Monial to Givors-Canal line.
The viaduct received historical monument status in December 1984, marking its significance in the architectural heritage of Burgundy-Franche-Comté.
Visitors can access the site at 91 La Roche in Mussy-sous-Dun and observe the structure from multiple ground viewpoints.
The viaduct required 75,000 cubic meters of materials for its construction and allows trains to cross the valley before entering a short tunnel.
