Built in 1410 by Louis II of Bourbon, this building served as a residence for town castellans within the medieval walls of Thiers.
The original 15th-century fireplaces and vaulted cellars demonstrate the medieval construction methods of the Auvergne region.
The ground floor houses the Thiers tourist information office, while upper floors open during special events throughout the year.
A projecting section rests on two isolated columns at the corner of the building, creating an unusual architectural configuration for its period.
