Château de la Bôve, Historic castle in Bouconville-Vauclair, France.

The Château de la Bôve features cut stone facades with a central rotunda and dormers that reflect 18th-century architectural elements.

Built over underground quarries in the 13th century, the castle was destroyed in 1917 during the Battle of Chemin des Dames and rebuilt between 1928 and 1933.

The Chemin des Dames road earned its name from the regular visits of Louis XV's daughters to the Duchess of Narbonne-Lara between 1776 and 1789.

Visitors can explore the facades, vestibule, circular salon, chapel, and park, which received historical monument protection status in 2022.

Owner Henri Rillart de Verneuil directed the bombardment of his own castle in 1917 to remove German forces occupying the building.
