Le Magnoux, Mountain summit in Préveranges, France
Located at the crossroads of three municipalities, Le Magnoux rises to 504 meters, marking the highest point in the Centre-Val de Loire region.
Prior to 1789, the feudal estates of La Pérouse, Châteaumeillant, Préveranges, and Boussac converged at this geographical point, marking territorial boundaries.
The observation table at the summit enables visitors to identify distant landmarks, including views extending to the peaks of Puy de Dôme.
The north slope contains the source of the Indre River 500 meters away, while the Joyeuse River originates 300 meters down the southern slope.
Despite being situated in Préveranges commune, the water tower and orientation table are located in Creuse department, south of the departmental road.
