Château du Mont, Medieval castle in Sazeray, France

The castle stands on a plateau edge, rising twenty meters above the Rio Brûlé valley with its rectangular main building flanked by circular towers.

The first written record of the castle dates back to 1385, when knight Guillaume des Ages paid homage as the lord of Mont.

The castle includes architectural elements from multiple periods, with the main residence built in 1457 and a large barn added in 1640.

The castle remains private property and visitors can only view the exterior structures, including the circular well and defensive towers.

The main building features a vaulted cellar partially carved into the rock, with original latrines located in the north tower.
