Château du Pineau

Château du Pineau is a castle featuring two round towers, pavilions, and a chapel set within expansive parkland and forest in Maine-et-Loire. The buildings showcase different architectural styles and periods across the estate's grounds.

The castle was built in the 17th century with towers, pavilions, and a drawbridge as a fortified residence. Major reconstruction took place in the 19th century under architect René Hodé, transforming much of its structure.

The chapel serves as a place of local reflection and remembrance within the estate's grounds. It represents the community's connection to the region's architectural heritage and restoration efforts.

Portions of the castle, park, and forest are accessible to visitors on foot, with walking paths throughout the grounds. Access is straightforward, and the outdoor areas allow for a leisurely exploration of the property.

The chapel standing today was rebuilt between 1850 and 1852 on the site of an earlier structure destroyed during the French Revolution. This reconstruction reflects how the estate recovered its architectural presence after significant upheaval.
