Île Aucard, River island in Tours, France

The island stretches 920 meters in length and 200 meters in width, featuring sports fields and green spaces along the Loire River.

Louis Aucard, a cattle breeder, used the island as grazing land in the 17th century, giving his name to this natural formation.

The island hosts the annual Aucard de Tours festival and multiple sports activities throughout the year on its dedicated municipal stadium.

Access to the island is through the Saint-Symphorien suspension bridge, with sports facilities available for football, basketball, and volleyball games.

A water pumping station, established in 1933, continues to supply drinking water to the city of Tours from its location on the island.
