Sommet du Colombier, Alpine summit in Jura Mountains, France

The Grand Colombier reaches an elevation of 1,934 meters and features mountain meadows where wild gentians and alpine flowers grow.

A metal cross has marked the summit since 1906, replacing the original wooden structure that was destroyed by a storm in 1967.

The summit regularly hosts Tour de France stages, including a notable finish line during the fifteenth stage of the 2020 edition.

Access roads to the summit close from November to mid-April, and visitors must bring their water as no sources are available.

A 360-degree orientation table helps identify surrounding mountains, including Mont Blanc, Lakes Bourget, Annecy, and Geneva.

Elevation above the sea: 1,934 m

GPS coordinates: 44.87417,5.94028
