Cascade de Courmes, Natural waterfall in Alpes-Maritimes, France
The double cascade drops from a height of 20 meters, creating a natural mist effect against the limestone cliffs of the Loup gorge.
The waterfall forms part of the ancient Loup River system, which carved deep gorges through limestone formations over millions of years.
Local residents maintain traditions of celebrating the annual patron saint feast near the waterfall location every August 30th.
Visitors can access the waterfall directly from road D6, with several parking spaces available along the roadside near the falls.
The cascade feeds into a natural pool at its base, where experienced canyoners complete a 30-meter rappel descent during guided adventures.
