The Armenian Apostolic Church of Saint Gregory the Illuminator stands on rue du Père-Komitas in Chaville. Its white gabled facade carries a small square bell tower with open arched sides, a green pyramidal roof and a cross; a triangular pediment frames the dark entrance doors, three narrow arched windows flank each side, and a plaque reads "EGLISE APOSTOLIQUE ARMENIENNE". A low wall and dark metal fence separate it from the street.

Services began in 1931 at 20 avenue de Ville-d'Avray, now avenue de la Résistance. In 1934 a hangar on rue des Trois-Champtiers became the church of Saint Gregory the Illuminator. The first stone of the present building, paid for by the faithful, was blessed on 17 February 1957, and Séropé Manoukian consecrated it on 15 December 1957. The street was renamed rue du Père-Komitas in 1984.

The church is dedicated to Saint Gregory I the Illuminator, and the street it stands on was renamed rue du Père-Komitas in 1984 after Komitas, the Armenian priest and composer. The parish belongs to the Diocese of France of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and serves the Armenian community of Chaville, a town of about 20,000 inhabitants.
