Plage de Guendrez

Guendrez is a sandy beach on the Atlantic coast where the shore descends into shallow lagoon-like waters divided by rock formations into two sections. Each section offers different conditions for swimmers and beachgoers.

The nearby prehistoric site of Menez Dregan contains remains from the Paleolithic period, showing early human settlement in Brittany. These findings reveal the long history of this coastal region.

The name Guendrez comes from the Breton language meaning White Sand, reflecting the linguistic heritage of the Finistère region.

The water and conditions are best explored at low tide when natural rock pools form and create small ecosystems. During summer months lifeguards supervise the shore, and facilities for disabled visitors are available.

The beach has held Blue Flag certification since 2013 and is recognized for its clean and well-managed conditions. This award reflects a commitment to environmental care and visitor experience.
