The Espiguette beach stretches across 10 kilometers of coastline with white sand dunes reaching heights of 12 meters along the Mediterranean Sea.
The Espiguette lighthouse, constructed in 1869 with a 27-meter square tower and 111 steps, initially stood in water but now sits back from the shore.
The beach maintains its natural state through manual cleaning practices, which replaced mechanical methods in 2012 to protect the coastal environment.
Visitors can access the beach through Les Baronnets parking area, which operates free of charge from October to March and requires payment from April to September.
The protected area encompasses 534 hectares and supports 109 bird species, including 25 rare types, along with specific dune-building plants like oyat and sand lilies.
