Pic de Paloumère, Mountain summit in the Pyrenees, France.
Pic de Paloumère is a mountain summit in the Pyrenees reaching 1608 meters high. The peak is crossed by hiking trails that pass through forests of box trees and hazelnut groves.
The peak was first documented in October 2016 when a group set out from Col de Portet-d'Aspet at 1073 meters elevation. This early record marks the beginning of known activity on the summit.
Local hikers maintain a tradition of marking paths with yellow and red signs to guide visitors to the summit through established routes.
The main route is a hiking trail that takes roughly three and a half hours to walk about 7 kilometers with an elevation gain around 600 meters. Marked paths with yellow and red signs help visitors stay on track through the route.
From the summit, visitors can see Mont-Valier, Aneto, and even the city of Toulouse all at once on clear days. This rare line of sight makes it a special vantage point in the region.
