Château de Truscat, Heritage château in Sarzeau, France.

Château de Truscat is a classical French château in Sarzeau with a rectangular facade oriented northward toward the Gulf of Morbihan. Two corner pavilions were added during nineteenth-century renovations, enlarging the main structure.

Construction of the current château began in 1702 under Gervais de Francheville, replacing an earlier sixteenth-century manor where only the chapel and auxiliary buildings survived. This project marked the beginning of a new chapter in the estate's history.

The château reflects its long connection to regional aristocratic networks, visible in its formal structure and positioning overlooking the Gulf of Morbihan. The property still embodies the social importance it held within the area's noble circles over centuries.

The château remains private property and is not open to public visits. The building can be viewed from the surrounding area of Sarzeau, where its location makes it visible from certain vantage points.

In 1815, General Bernadotte, who would later become King of Sweden, presided over a peace celebration held at this residence. This event connected the estate to significant European figures and post-war history.
